TitleSECTION G.1: FAMILY SETTLEMENTS AND INHERITANCE RELATING TO DESCENT OF LOSELEY ESTATE
DescriptionFor a full picture of family arrangements under wills and settlements, it is essential to refer also to records listed in the series 'family settlements and records relating to the descent of the Loseley estate' in section A.1.

Reference should also be made to the series 'mortgages and leases of main estate' below, particularly for evidence of the management of the estate during the 17th cent, including provision for Sir Robert More (1581-1626) during his father Sir George's lifetime, and the minority of Sir William More, Bart (1643-1684), son of Sir Poynings More, during which his mother Elizabeth is accused of having done as much as was possible 'to spoil to an engaged estate, except she could have sold the fee and inheritance as well as waste and trifle away the revenues thereof' (James Gresham in LM/COR/6/90).

For the marriages of Elizabeth More to Richard Polsted then John Wolley, see section G.6.4. For other settlements and estates of More daughters, see section G.7.
